Is The 1000 Calorie Diet Plan Safe?

Most people will find this diet very hard to stick with and we don’t really recommend it for anyone. The problem with the 1000 calorie a day diet is you are going to be extremely hungry, especially if you are used to eating a large amount of food.

Although you can lose weight on this type of diet initially, what usually happens is you are so hungry you end up cheating and bingeing on food that you shouldn’t be eating. A better choice is to focus on specific foods that will help you to lose tummy fat.

A successful plan will slowly cut your calories while increasing the amount of exercise that you do each week. This way your body will not go through what I like to call hunger shock – that feeling that you are going to die you are so hungry. I’m sure you know what I mean.

This type of diet actually causes you to store more fat because your body goes into starvation mode. Your body begins to store calories as fat because it thinks it’s going to need them for later when there is no food. By making a few simple adjustments to your diet and increasing your meals from 3-4 a day to 5-6, you will immediately notice a difference in your weight. Your metabolism will pick up, you will burn more calories and you will start to lose weight. Your body will burn more energy when you are eating small frequent meals because it knows it will continue to get fed every 3 -4 hrs. If you drop to 1000 calorie diet, your body says, “wait - I’m not getting much food so I better store it as fat for a later date".

I know you're probably looking for the quickest way to lose weight but I would stay away from the 1000 calorie a day diet.  When you are considering any diet plan, you should ask yourself, “can I eat like this for the rest of my life"?
